here to learn about the inaugural FIRE TOWER RELAY in August! Date: June 14, 2008 Time: 6:00 a.m. Distance: 77.8 (+ or -) miles Important Dates:April 1 – Returning team entry priority. New teams may enter at any time; their entry will not be confirmed until after April 1. April 15th – Entry deadline and final shirt sizes due June 1 – Team rosters complete with participant name, age, gender and waiver signature Entry Fee:$330 per team. No refunds of any kind unless entry is
refused. Race directors reserve the right to refuse entries based on
violations of previous year(s) race rules and/or limitations of field size.
Preference will be given to teams from the prior year. New teams will be
accepted on a first come basis as space permits. New Teams:New teams may send an entry in at any time, the earlier the better. You will be place on a waiting list in the order your entry is received. Your entry will be confirmed after April 1, the date returning teams have to enter by to receive priority. If we are unable to accommodate your team due to reaching the maximum field size your check will be returned to you. Teams:Teams consist of up to 6 runners. Each runner runs a minimum of 10 miles. The race is broken down into 15 legs; the legs vary in length from 2.3 miles to 9.2 miles. Each team is allowed one vehicle with the option using a second vehicle for an additional fee. Teams are limited to two vehicles; at some exchange points you will be limited to only one vehicle per team. Handicap:Women 13%. Men and women age 14 –5%, age 15 – 5%, age 16 – 3%, age 17 – 1% 39 – 49 years old 1% for each year over 39. Men and women over 49 years, 10% plus 1.5% for each year over 49 years. The winning team will be the one with the fastest handicapped time based on age and gender. Directions and Maps:A few weeks prior to the start of the race a packet of information will be sent to each team captain containing race rules, information on the legs and maps. Information will also be posted on this web page as soon as it is available. Packet Pick-up:Saturday morning between 5:15 and 5:45. Each captain will pick up one packet for the entire team. The packet will contain shirts, vehicle permit(s), pins and numbers for the entire team. Shirts:Shirts will be ordered based on the sizes provide as of April 15th. Changes after April 15th may be available on race day by trading with other teams. We will have a shirt exchange sheet at registration to aid you in this process. Teams not providing shirt sizes by the entry deadline will receive the following unisex shirts: 3 medium, 2 large and 1 XL.
